Testing, Testing—1, 2, 3

The market for NBASE-T products and solutions continues to mature, and took another significant step forward with the announcement by University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOH) that it will add testing for systems using the NBASE-T specification and IEEE 802.3bz standard to its comprehensive Ethernet test offering. We would also like to welcome to UNH-IOL as a new member of the NBASE-T Alliance. As a member, they will have access to the NBASE-T technology experts and the most current specification details, and serve as a great resource for our Technical Working Group.

The UNH-IOL has been providing testing services to the multi-billion-dollar Ethernet industry since 1988, acting as a neutral third-party to ensure multivendor interoperability. It will play a critical role in ensuring that all 2.5G and 5G BASE-T Ethernet products work seamlessly out-of-the-box—removing any potential roadblocks that may occur during the continued deployment of this new Ethernet speed across enterprises and other networks.

Yesterday’s announcement extends the work we’ve already done with UNH-IOL and the Ethernet Alliance via our plugfest last Fall when many of our members came together to test their solutions. Participating companies from the NBASE-T Alliance included Aquantia Corp., Aukua Systems, Inc., Broadcom Limited, Cisco Systems, Inc., Extreme Networks, Inc., Fluke Corporation, Intel Corporation, Marvell Technology Group Ltd., Panduit Corp., Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc., Spirent Communications and Tektronix, Inc.
